Dot x Ott Review: Hip Restaurant & Mercantile In Bakersfield

    April 25, 2021 /

If you’ve spent some time in downtown Bakersfield, the odds are that you’ve seen or heard of Dot x Ott Restaurant. This eatery & mercantile is located in the up-and-coming Eastchester part of downtown Bakersfield right off the corner of 18th and O streets. Dot x Ott is one of those places that caught our attention immediately with their simple yet modern vibe. After our first visit, we fell in love with their food and casual, hip atmosphere. This is a great spot to visit for lunch, weekend brunch, or special occasions like intimate Birthday dinners and date nights. Dot x Ott Menu With a small but well-thought-out menu, Dot…

Lake Isabella is a beautiful lake just an hour east of Bakersfield. It is well known for outdoor recreational activities that revolve around water sports, fishing, camping, and hiking. As Bakersfield locals, we make frequent trips out to Lake Isabella in search of the best hiking trails and things to do. As we’ve knocked off some of the more popular items from our Lake Isabella bucket list, we’ve been digging deeper into our research and finding hidden trails that are less crowded and not as popular. The Isabella Peak – Coso Mine Loop Trail is one of these hikes. The Isabella Peak Trail leads to a stunning 360 viewpoint of…

Hiking Unal Trail In Sequoia National Forest

    June 15, 2020 /

As the Valley temperatures start picking up in the summer, we have been searching for new hikes to do in Sequoia National Forest. Unal Trail has been on my hiking list for a while but it’s located an hour and a half away from Bakersfield so it’s not exactly close to where we live. We finally put our excuses aside and made it out to hike the Unal Trail. It follows through a gentle forest full of cedar and pine trees and leads to a viewpoint of the nearby Sequoia National Forest. We really enjoyed hiking this trail especially since the trees keep this area shaded and cool. It’s a…
