Visiting Silver City Ghost Town In Bodfish, California
Silver City Ghost Town is an open-air museum located in Bodfish, California featuring old historic houses. There are about 20 different Western-style buildings preserved at the Silver City Ghost Town from the local area and all are at least 100 years old! We were visiting Lake Isabella in the winter but due to the cold weather, there wasn’t that much that we could see and do in the area especially outdoors. The Silver City Ghost Town seemed like a quick fun attraction that’s open and accessible all year long. If you’re planning a trip to Silver City Ghost Town In Bodfish California, here is our guide covering visitor tips and…

The Isabella Peak – Coso Mine Loop Trail is one of these hikes. The Isabella Peak Trail leads to a stunning 360 viewpoint of…

Hiking Unal Trail In Sequoia National Forest
As the Valley temperatures start picking up in the summer, we have been searching for new hikes to do in Sequoia National Forest. Unal Trail has been on my hiking list for a while but it’s located an hour and a half away from Bakersfield so it’s not exactly close to where we live. We finally put our excuses aside and made it out to hike the Unal Trail. It follows through a gentle forest full of cedar and pine trees and leads to a viewpoint of the nearby Sequoia National Forest. We really enjoyed hiking this trail especially since the trees keep this area shaded and cool. It’s a…

Pizza Barn Review – Budget Friendly Pizzas In Kernville
Pizza Barn is the local “go-to” pizza spot in Kernville, a small mountain town located on the outskirts of Lake Isabella. We arrived at Lake Isabella late on a Friday night for a quick weekend getaway from Bakersfield. After spending over an hour driving in our car we were tired, hungry and just wanted to find a quick bite to eat before calling it a night. Lake Isabella is surrounded by a few very small towns so the food choices here were pretty limited. After a quick Google search, I came across Pizza Barn in Kernville, a local “mom and pop” eatery that is one of the highest-rated restaurants…
Kern River Brewing Company Review – Kernville’s Best Brewpub
I love a good brewery! Nothing sounds better after a full day of outdoor activities and sightseeing than relaxing with a craft beer in your hand. At Lake Isabella, Kern River Brewing Company is just that place. Located in the small town of Kernville with mountains and nature as its backdrop, Kern River Brewing Company is a favorite amongst Lake Isabella locals and out of town travelers alike. Many people from my co-working space in Bakersfield travel an hour to Kernville once a month just to hang out and enjoy beers at this brewery – so that in itself speaks volumes about how dedicated its customers are about coming here.…
