Brewery Review: Temblor Brewing Company In Bakersfield

Temblor Brewing Company is a local brewery in Bakersfield that has been making a name for itself since its establishment in 2015. With a wide variety of beers to choose from and an extensive food menu, it’s one of the best breweries in town.

If you’re not from Bakersfield, you might be surprised to find out that Bakersfield has an up-and-coming brewery scene. But in a place that’s sizzling hot half of the year, there is nothing better for cooling off at the end of the day than a refreshing, ice-cold beer.

If it’s your first time heading out to Temblor Brewing Company, we cover a bit of what you can expect if you plan to dine there, some of our favorite beers that we recommend, and why we love it so much!

A Great Selection Of Beers

First things first. If you’re visiting a brewery, it’s usually for their beers. Temblor Brewing Company has a great selection of beers, both on tap and in cans to go.

I always say that one of the most difficult parts, when we come to dine here, is choosing which beers to order – because everything just sounds so good! If you can’t choose just one you can always go for their beer flight that includes 5 beers of your choice.

From left to right: Almond Brown Ale, Raspberry Creamsicle, Apricot Cobbler Kettle Sour, French Saison with Black Currants, Pineapple Upside Down Cake

A couple of Temblor staple beers that we highly recommend are the award-winning Under a Blood Orange Sky Belgian Wit and Streets of Bakersfield India Pale Ale. If you’re looking for something a bit lighter, try the El Cerrito Mexican Style Lager, perfect for hot summer afternoons.

In a mood for something a bit more interesting? Temblor has a wide array of unique beers. Some of my personal favorites are:

  • Raspberry Creamsicle Fruit Beer made with raspberry puree, lactose, and vanilla – so yummy!
  • Soft & Fluffy IPA that tastes just like marshmallows and bubble gum
  • Apricot Cobbler Kettle Sour that is very fruity and easy on the tongue
  • French Saison with Black Currants – high in alcohol yet quite tart
  • Pineapple Upside Down Cake Kettle Sourvery chuggable! Although you’ll want to slow down and savor the taste.

Temblor Brewing Company shines in the beer choices that it offers and is truly one of the most creative breweries in Bakersfield. They offer an extensive list of sour beers and many innovative flavors that I haven’t seen anywhere else.

Plus, their canned beers come with interesting, colorful designs that are sure to catch your eye and impress your friends at a BBQ or a party. You can tell that a lot of thought and pride goes into everything Temblor does, down to the smallest details.

They Serve A Full Menu

Unlike some other breweries in Bakersfield, Temblor Brewing Company also serves food. Their menu covers a variety of items centered around American comfort food like wings, nachos, savory sandwiches, juicy burgers, and refreshing salads. Temblor’s menu is reasonably priced with most food items in the $12-$15 price range.

The Fault Line and The Classic burgers

We usually go for their burgers that are tender and full of flavor. I like The Classic with cheese while my husband usually gets The Fault Line (a very fitting name for Bakersfield) that comes with bacon-berry-jalapeño jam, pepper-jack cheese, and arugula. All of the burgers come with fries and any of the meat patties can be subbed for the Impossible burger which I usually get.

When I’m in the mood for something lighter, I’ll go for one of their salads like the Greek Salmon salad. It’s very light yet filling and healthy!

Relaxing Atmosphere

One of the best parts about Temblor Brewing Company is the casual, laid-back atmosphere. With a large interior and spacious patio area, it’s always easy to find a seat, no matter how busy it is.

Inside Temblor Brewing Company

The food & drinks can be ordered from the bar inside and the service is always outstanding and very fast. The beers will be handed to you immediately along with a number for food so that the staff can bring it out to your table whenever it’s ready.

The interior of Temblor is designed in modern, industrial style with open spaces and trendy touches. The main wall features an installation with bricks from one of the first breweries in Bakersfield along with a wall mural in the shape of Kern County.

The patio is surrounded by a towering bamboo wall that feels very secluded from the outside world providing a bit of an oasis and escape from the city life.

It’s Dog Friendly

If you’re looking for a brewery that allows dogs, you’re in luck! Temblor Brewery is very dog friendly and we usually bring out dog Quito with us whenever we head out there to eat and have a few drinks.

You know a place is dog friendly when they even start their own hashtag #dogsoftemblor and a giveaway for those who post photos with their dogs when they come to Temblor Brewing Company!
